"Still recovering." according to Laurie Dufresne. I got an advance copy of Afterlife and devoured it in a few sittings. Sakey is a genre master, and here his storytelling talents are working on overdrive. The marketing says Ghost and Matrix, but those are loose, nearly irrelevant markers. The book is a monumental work of literary invention and totally original, a mash-up of straight ahead crime-thriller writing with one of the most fully realized parallel worlds I've encountered on the page.
