Interesting Read! cands This book is really interesting. As a teacher that has worked with autistic students and an animal rescue volunteer that knows a lot about dogs, I really enjoyed seeing the connections between the two. There are a lot of "opinions" dispersed throughout the book, but Grandin does a good job of expressing that they are her opinions and not fact. For example, she gave a few stereotypes regarding dog breeds but also let the audience know that her statements were based off of her own experiences or things that she has heard. Hopefully reader. Someone who was not diagnosed autistic might have been fiercely criticized for saying the things Ms. Grandin says about the similarities between autistic perceptions and animal perceptions. Generally speaking, I would say that "Animals in Translation" is somewhere between a text book and an autobiography. For the most part, the book was very interesting, and it kept me engaged throughout.
