How will she reclaim her life when she's barely breathing?. The bruises may have faded, but scars and fears remain. I don't remember when I've ever just stopped to live in the present, to hold on to the seconds I'm in."Emma Thomas's struggle with an abusive home life came to a heart-pounding conclusion in the final chapters of Reason to Breathe, the first installment of The Breathing Series - Rebecca's Donovan's bestselling romantic thriller (USA Today). Having the audacity to be upset with Evan over Annalise, when in turn she was doing the same thing. Evan is a saint. He puts up with so much and in the end still loves Emma with everything his has. We learn more about Emma's mother Rac. HGV said Downright frustrating. I loved the first book but this one has a lot of scenes that are just unnecessarydragged the story a bit and many complicated characters were introduced as if Emma's life struggles and history of abuse weren't enough. I hate that the writer had to introduce Jonathanspoiler alert! don't read this part if you haven't started with the second novel. You would think that after book 1, Emma would be a lot smarter in making choices in her life but book "Downright frustrating" according to HGV.
