"Lots of information for beginners" according to Jardinera. I learned a lot reading this book. I now understand where oils come from, how they are processed, which ones are preferred, and what they are used for. The author also includes many great recipes for skin care products. The topics of proper storage and sterilization of the implements used are also covered. If you wanted to go into the business of making skin care products this book is an excellent primer. If you just want to make a few things and experiment, you will quickly realize that an investment in many products may be required to complete the recipes offered here. I'll keep this book around. It's a great reso. A very good reference for a serious crafter Christie Strub Biber I wasn't impressed with this book at first, but I found myself referring to it again and again. After renewing it from the library for the 3rd time, I bought my own copy. I am serious about making my own products, and Planet Soap is my company. I make soap, of course. Now I am getting into lip balm and lotions. My focus in this review is on the Creams and Lotions part of the book. I already had a lot of the ingredients on hand, and found the recipes easy to follow, at least the more basic ones. A digital scale is necessary here.Some of the recipes call for a daunting number of ingredients. In that regard I would say. Great info, very pleasant read! R. C.
