Incredible, but not in a good way I rated the book as "full of surprises", but not for the reasons that I assume were expected. It is certainly impossible to anticipate where it is going, but the reader expects that it will make some sort of sense. Certainly it starts with a bang and the main character is intriguing. However, I did not find him very likeable.Initially, the premise seemed to promise a great deal, but as it went on, it became more and more complicated and less and less plausible. I have read most of Baldacci's books and for the most part have enjoyed them for fun reading. I have enjoyed the Roby, Maxwell and Camel Club characters pretty well so looked forward to "meeting" a new character. As so many have reviewed the plot line before me I see no need to address that part; plenty of good reviews to pick from if interested.I enjoyed the fact that Amos is a pretty flawed character and reluctantly gets drawn into the story.
