I have a number of Railroad books but what was needed was an encyclopedia that you could use to look up facts etc. When Amazon listed this one by Brian Solomon my hopes were high. Brian Solomon has written a number of excellent books so maybe this one would be the one toppin. I could have gotten better information else where There are some very obscure railroads that dont even deserve to be in this book. One was

I could have gotten better information else where There are some very obscure railroads that don't even deserve to be in this book. One was only thirty some miles long and yet others that I can think of that were much longer and of more value to the railroad industry were left out. Also, the movitve power listings were many times fifty or sixty years old with no mod. "I've had more fun with this book than any of my others" according to MarketWatcher.
