The new full-tilt, unstoppably hilarious and entertaining novel from the best-selling author of Skinny Dip and Bad Monkey. When Lane Coolman's car is bashed from behind on the road to the Florida Keys, what appears to be an ordinary accident is anything but (this is Hiaasen!). Behind the wheel of the other car is Merry Mansfield - the eponymous Razor Girl - and the crash scam is only the beginning of events that spiral crazily out of control while unleashing some of the wildest characters Hiaasen has ever set loose. That the Razor Girl may be the key to Yancy's future will be as surprising as anything else he encounters along the way - including the giant Gambian rats that are livening up his restaurant inspections.. Yancy believes that if he can singlehandedly solve a high-profile murder, he'll get his detective badge back. "Classic Carl" according to BookerD. If you like whack job characters in wacko settings and situations, where the fictional device of coincidence is turned into an art form, then Carl Hiassen is your man. While most of his stuff leans heavily on the weirdness that is Florida, you could park this tale of reality TV gone wrong, entertainment agents desperate to save it, petty criminals, and a scruffy hero (of sorts) almost anywhere in the USofA today and come away with WTF hilarity that marks Hiassen's work. A funny, fast moving read I totally recommend.. mrthinkndrink said Another wild and wacky winner from Mr. Hiaasen.. Another excellent work from Carl Hiaasen, south Florida's premier chronicler of crime and weirdness. I first read Hiaasen many years ago, always delighted at his twisted humor and devious, criminal mind. But if you have ever lived there, you know that what he writes is merely a record of what passes for "normal life" in that fascinating part of the country. Once asked how he comes up with such crazy, inventive plots and characters, Hiaasen demured, saying that he simply takes the best of the daily news items and fictionalizes them slightly. A great, fun read.. The Nonsense never Stops I have read almost all of CH but this book tops my listUnlike some of his first novels, this story quickly jumps the tracks and stays thereThe characters and dialogue rip off of every pagewith no dead spots or annoying charactersIf this was a play, we could not wait until the Razor Girl reappears to goose the actionKey West now rests in this genre as another hotbed of Florida slime, stupidity, and revenge.
