Some generalities I noticed while writing this book is that Democrat states tend to pay higher incomes than Republican states, but when cost of living adjustments are made they tend to balance out around the same. As I ranked each area by affordability a new world of knowledge opened up to me. I thought other people would find this data interesting also. However, there are exceptions to this, so affordable areas can be found regardless of political preference. Overall cost of living, rent and housing prices tend to be much lower in Republican states while much higher in Democrat states.
