This is not a "how to play" Klezmer instruction book, and if all the pianist does is follow the chords and the melody, there is nothing exciting about it. But the book is perfect for any instrument as a take-off point. In the case of more experienced players, the chords help to create satisfactory improvisations. The titles of the songs are not always those I associate with the music, but that is a minor inconvenience and is no great surprise.. Alex Stetler said Klezmer book.. This book is easy to read. love it. I am an upright bassist and I use it with my clarinet player, who, depending on the key sight transposes.
