Not what I expected. I have wanted this book for quite some time, so when it went on sale for under $10 I jumped at the chance to get it. I really had high hopes for this book. I fully expected to give it 5 stars based on the lovely cover. There are plenty of practice pages. The instructions for some of the flowers and design elements give step by step pictures, but for almost everything else it is just the font exemplars and then a practice page. The other thing is the book is considerably smaller than most lettering workbooks. I write big and on most of the pages the area for practice is just too small for me. The book measures just under 7" squar. Three Stars This book delivers on hand drawn flowers and botanical sketches. So if you are looking for inspiration on that you will find it here. I think it's nice that the ENTIRE book is handwritten and drawn. However this book seriously misses the mark on hand-lettering itself. Technique is poor and many look rather juvenile and sloppy. Overall still a nice book to have for floral inspiration but look elsewhere if you are searching for in depth help with hand lettering.. I love this book I love this book!! It is so fun. I am so glad that coloring books are all the rage these days because it really is a great way to let go of stress. This hand lettering workbook is fantastic! Learning the basics of how to start a drawing is essential to anyone with an itch to paint or draw and this is a great way to learn. It really helps you learn to draw from beginning to end. The practice pages were so fun and in some cases funny [ originals where definitely better then my attempt at them ]. This book was an absolute blast! Learning to do a variety of different things from plants to letters was just such a blast. Stop and smel
