The Teen's Musical Theatre Collection: Young Women's Edition was recommended by our granddaughter's voice instructor and she could not have picked a better starting book for a 12 year old girl. There is a CD that accompanies the book so practice is easier and if the occasion arises to perform, the CD can be used to accompany the singer. The pitch range of the book is varied enough to supply altos and sopranos with a nice choice of songs. The only problem I . Musical Theater Must Have Raelene Vautrin This is the third book we have bought. I first purchased it for my oldest daughter ( twice) then recently for the younger one. Not sure where the first two copies went! This is a must for any teen doing musical theater. Great selection of songs.. "Not All Songs in Correct Keys" according to Amelia Royce Lumsden. The selections in this book are great, but the songs are not all in their original and proper keys. I think if one is trying to teach students about the etiquette of auditioning or any sense of professionalism, it's important that they learn Broadways songs in the right key.
