I am looking forward to reading the next one.**IMPORTANT**If you've read The Blood of Elves without reading the second short story book (The Sword of Destiny, never got officially published in English), Google 'The Sword of Destiny Fan Translation' and read it! Wonderful In More Ways Than I Can Describe I purchased and started reading the Witcher novels shortly after beating the Witcher 3 video game, and to be one hundred percent honet, I'm glad that I had unintentionally wait until after I had beaten the game. Granted, I put a TON of hours into that game alone, not to mention it's predecessors, but to sit back and read the original material in which it was based off of - that was wonderful in more ways that I can describe. There were so many references to material from the books in the game themselves, and while I hadn't. "Well Written/Translated" according to PO'ed. The overarching story starts to get dark in this book. Kind of reminds me of The Empire Strikes back in mood and direction. There are a series of chaotic events that take place, but the writing makes the chaos easy to follow. The characters develop well in this volume and their interactions are done very well. I got into the books by playing the games. As I read the books, I am finding that I like them better than the games. That is saying a lot considering that I think The Wild Hunt is one of the best games ever made.

War breaks out across the lands. And Ciri, in whose hands the world's fate rests, has vanished.. A coup threatens the Wizard's Guild. A child of prophecy, she will have the power to change the world for good or for ill - but only if she lives to use it. His task now is to protect Ciri. A serious injury leaves Geralt fighting for his life. Geralt is a witcher: guardian of the innocent; protector of those in need; a defender, in dark times, against some of the most frightening creatures of myth and legend. The Witcher returns in this sequel to Blood of Elves, in the series that inspired The Witcher video games
