"Information repeated elsewhere" according to Mili. I had great expectations on reading this book after my trip to the Emirates, but found it too commonplace. The information that the author shares is either in Lonely Planet or can be found out by attending one of the cultural talks in Dubai itself.Further, there are many "don'ts" that the author offers, and which are usually known aft. Well worth the read We purchased this book before our first visit to Dubai last month. It was a very interesting read and helped prepare us for the UAE culture. That said, Dubai has many more expats than native Emirates, so there were certainly many "flavors" of culture that we encountered. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this as a good referen. "Outdated information" according to Natalie Strobl. Overall, good book. Very educational. But it was published 10 years ago. I just completed my trip to Dubai and found some of the guidance to no longer be the case. As the world becomes more modern and the UAE a tourist hotspot, the customs and culture is rapidly changing to keep up. Would love to see an updated version of this release
