Fantastic figures in clay J.Jay Volume 1 of 500 figures in clay is a fascinating illustration of many sculptors' works. The works are inventive, creative, and point of view. Many are glazed in color while others are more subtly finished. It is a wondrous book and can't help but pull the reader into variety of manifestations of the human figure.. Love it. This book is basically all pictures, with artist names, titles and limited technical info. Definitely not a how-to book, but there are plenty of those out there to guide you in making similar figures. Some reviews made comments about many of the figures being creepy, but I think that's because any distortion of the human figure often invokes an emotional response from a viewer, and many shown in the book are abstract, surreal and expressive rather than traditional and .
