Featuring 75 stunning black and white photographs from Ronnie's personal collection--many appearing in print for the first time--this fully indexed eBook also includes a thoroughly updated discography with the most comprehensive survey of Ronnie's recording career ever published.. Pop legend Ronnie Spector reveals the story of her dreamlike rise from the streets of Harlem to the pinnacle of rock stardom as lead singer of the Ronettes, and her nightmare descent into madness as the wife of Phil Spector, the pop hitmaker who kept her a virtual prisoner behind the locked doors of his darkened Beverly Hills mansion. Ronnie's escape from that ordeal, and her subsequent struggle to reclaim her voice, her career, and her sanity, provide an emotional climax to this smart, funny, and inspiring autobiography, named one of "The Top 25 Rock Memoirs of All Time" by Rolling Stone.  Now available in a newly redesigned 358 page trade paperback edition, Be My Baby is a fan's dream come true

He wanted her all to himself and was deathly afraid she would become involved with someone else.Ronnie, herself, hesitated to leave her . Ronnie is a true survivor of her Rock n Roll life. She has gone on to live and thrive regardless of her past. I have always loved The Ronettes and Ronnie's voice was always one of the most recognizable voices in Rock history still to this day. I did have some knowledge about her career and life with Phil Spector but not to the extent of what she really went through as detailed in the book. Phil basically destroyed her career and took away many years that she could have been singing live as well as recording. Thankfully she got away from him with her sanity intact. I truly enjoyed Ronnie's recollections and stories from the Peppermint Lounge all the way through her career. She will always Be My Baby. Who wants to be a star? Ronnie's story made for compelling, if uncomfortable, reading. Being the same age, I adored her---but would have pitied her instead had I known that the beautiful child with the million dollar voice was as much victim as star. To share her experiences vicariously was to wish she could have had a "normal" life and spared the choices that she made. That she survived the sordid aspects of fame and overcame enough to tell about it was truly the biggest success story---and was due in no small part to her brave mother.

Be My Baby marks the passage of Ronnie Spector from victim to survivor."--Alan Light, Rolling Stone"Funny and observant, consistently engaging sprinkled with deadpan humor"--Mike Boehm, The Los Angeles Times"An enthralling and moving Dante-esque descent through the rock 'n' roll inferno. "Lively, illuminating Spector's portrait of the energy of the early Sixties music scene is fascinating."--Kirkus Reviews"Entertaining, often disturbing and quite moving. One of the three greatest rock 'n' roll memoirs." --Jon Wilde, Blitz (London)
