DESCRIPTION:
Revisiting Charles Dickens Mary Ann Fischer This book was my BookGroup's choice for September. Long - VERY long - but thoroughly Dickens. We had a marvelous discussion (more of a free-for-all!!). Dickens is waisted on the too young (unless the teacher is extraordinarily gifted).. Bleak, indeed! Mosky Although this is listed as unabridged, be aware that this is the abridged version, 6.5 hours on 6 CDs. Since this is one of my favorite books, I really noticed the cuts. A first-timer might not, but SO much will be missed. Too bad it is mislabeled.

His novels captured and held the public imagination over a period of more than thirty years. Charles Dickens (1812-70) was a political reporter and journalist before establishing his reputation as a novelist with PICKWICK PAPERS (1836-7).
