I am an avid study, so i quickly played through all of the beginners books I had purchased and needed a challenging and comprehensive book which would take me to a respectable level.Mandolin is not my first instrument- I also play violin, piano, and trumpet, but during all my time playing those instruments i have not come across a book as well put together as "The Complete Mandolinist". The book starts with the usual "this is the mandolin" and progresses rapidly. Aspame This is an excellent instructional book for budding mandolinists. My main instruments are jazz piano and classical guitar, but I purchased a used mandolin about a year ago because I liked its looks and sound. In other words, I needed instruction on mandolin technique, not on note reading or music theory. This book fills that need well.
