DESCRIPTION:

"Not terrible, but also not the best." according to Josh Miller. This book is pretty good. For when it was written I can't say I know tons and tons about other books that were popular. I can say that almost everyone I know has a strong dislike for the film they made based on this novel. I however, always held the movie as a classic silly favorite. That being said, the book felt a little boring to me. Maybe it's becaus. A fun adventure in the middle of Africa MTBer Outstanding read! This book was written in 1980 at the relative beginning of Crighton's writing career, but you can see already the level of genius in the meticulous crafting and beautiful story telling that Crighton has become known for in his writings. In some ways, this novel could be regarded as a precursor to some of Crighton's later blockbusters su. First book i read by Michael Crichton. No Spoilers MacDeezy I just got done reading the book and i have never read a book by Michael Crichton. I really enjoyed the movie when I was little and thought hey why not try the book because the book is usually better than the movie. it is definitely better than the movie. I have no complains about the book. the only bad thing i will say is that the end let me down a bit

A subsequent team, including a sign-language-speaking simian named Amy, follows the original team's tracks only to be subjected to more mysterious and grisly gorilla attacks. If you can look past the breathless treatment of '80s technology, like voice-recognition software and 256K RAM modules (the book was written in 1980), you'll find the same smart use of science and edge-of-your-seat suspense shared by Crichton's other work. The broad lines of the plot remain the same: A research team deep in the jungle disappears after a mysterious and grisly gorilla attack. --Paul Hughes. While you're waiting for that to happen, try reading the vastly more intelligent novel on which the movie was based. If you saw the 1995 film adaptation of this Crichton thriller, somebody owes you an apology
