A comedown The son may be a nice guy, but he does not have either the light romantic touch or the exotic fantasy vision that his mom had. It's sad to have her vision of Pern and its inhabitants tarnished.. horrible and disappointing I am a long time Pern reader. I love the series and have been reading it since it was first published. I always waited anxiously for the next book. This was NOT a Pern novel. Todd destroyed Pern. DO NOT waste you time and money on this book. You would be better off re reading the series and avoid this book. Everything that his mother created over many years is gone in this novel. I can only hope that the more time and effort will be put into future books and that Ann will take an active part in them.
