Noir, sleaze, and API This is interesting mix of LA-stype crime Noir with a near future science fiction premise that mostly works. The ultra-violence is somewhat typical and under-explained, and the science fiction premise is under-utilized, but the sleaze and air works well. Rick Remender's dialogue, while not terribly original, reads really well and pops with one-liners. The characters are mostly lika. Dark, violent and gorgeous Rick Remender tells the story of desperate people willing to do whatever it takes to indulge their vices one final time. Heath Hudson from Fear Agent (Fear Agent Vol. 1: Re-Ignition (v. 1)) - the best known book by Remender - was a flawed hero who had difficulty to accept his own guilt. Here the characters are unapologetic villains who seem to have no moral although we start to see. Tim said predicable but well-executed noir heist. Interesting premise, then a predictable but well-executed noir heist story. Art is really cool but sometimes lacks clarity to the detriment of the story.
