Wonderful! Eileen Wonderful, gives enough historical background to a complex period to make the topics addressed very understandable, even to the non-scholarly reader. Great illustrations. Kudos to Ms. Stokstad.. Stokstad Textbook Ruth Jones Stokstad is a well known art history author and she doesn't disappoint here either. I had to use this as a textbook for a Medieval Art class. Lots of pictures, lots of words, but that's what I expected and would be disappointed otherwise from Stokstad if it were any other way.. It's a textbook. What else needs to be said? I don't really know how to review textbooks. They're usually all awful, aren't they? Hahah. Useful book with pretty artwork inside.
