It is very well-written and the photographs used to illustrate points are fantastic. I bought this book prior to a trip where I would be doing a fair amount of low-light photography. Although I'm not new to low-light photography, I wanted something that would help me improve my skills. I picked up several ideas from this book, It is very well-written and the photographs used to illustrate points are fantastic.. "Night and Low Light Photography" according to PatM. Alan Hess Enjoys Photography and shares it in his work and writing. This book is NO Exception. I have been watching His work for Some Time and his accomplishments Speak for themselves.

To time the photographs, I had the camera locked into a tripod and used a cable release with the camera set to bulb mode so that the shutter stayed open as long as I held the button on the release.
