I was fascinated by the thoughts and feelings of someone who went from being a sighted person to being completely blind after half a lifetime had already passed. The affect of this situation on John and on his family was life changing. Even with the detailed description of how it felt to be blind, I can not imagine how I would cope with such a situation if I experienced a similar tragedy.
