Well worth the $, and reads okay on Kindle Papertouch/Touch Kindle Customer First, I was concerned about this reading/displaying okay on my Kindle Paperwhite; I was pleasantly surprised to find 95% of it displays fine including the music staves and notes. Just a couple of music staves went off the page to the right out of view but it is possible if I shrunk the text size that might have displayed.I have read quite a few books on compo. To many fairy tales in a music composing tutorial book. Have to say there are too many fairy tales in this book, and the "real stuff" is pretty short. One quick example, It takes 27% of the contents to end the long, nearly useless prefaces, forewards and introductions. If you are a well-educated musician or some amateur want to get serious, skip this book and save your money for a better one.. Excellent material I couldn't put down One of the main reasons why I not put it down because there's more to life than what you're seeing coming from the pen of this brilliant cool composer. He's straight up and well approved what he's pointing out. Hands out to Mr. Rice for an amazing in-depth point for writing this book.Dearly recommend a few books to start like Mr. Nestico's The Complete Arrange
This is a very clear, easy to follow textbook of strategies for improvising and composing; a simple guide to creating music today - no BS. Thus, the book is purposely “whole brained” in it’s approach. These are often difficult (conservatory level) and not fun. It offers step-by-step instructions, a system with practical tools for composing, improvising and arranging music, adding joy and interest to the lives of people who want to make music.
