While his early influences wererock and blues musicians, he started leaning towards jazz fusion andexperimental music during his late teen years. As soon as he finished high school, he enrolledat Musicians Institute in Los Angeles where he graduated from an Associate'sDegree. While living at L.A., Juan Antonio studied with variousguitarists such as Alex Machacek, Greg Howe and Scott Henderson.
