The pictures weren't of true original English country style they were of houses that used sparse furnishings and didn't tell or show you how to decorate in this way. If you want two exceptional books on English Cottage decorating buy The Country Diary Book of English Country Style and also The English Country Cottage. The pictures are wonderful showing how to decorate and the written paragraph explains why you decorate that way.. Realistic and Charming Photographs dsv For those of us that prefer a decorating book with simple charm, mismatched furniture and personal treasures this is the book for you. Defects are not obscured as they would be in a decorating book featuring American homes. No perfectly matched furniture or picture perfect rooms are shown.
