Being fully open to both joy and sadness, says David Whyte, helps us to develop a more beautiful minda mind that embraces the hidden riches of life. The Courage to Embrace the Gifts and Losses in LifeIf you never knew disappointment, would you ever grow? If you had never felt loss, could you have compassion for another? Without real heartache, would you ever know the greatness of love? Love David Whyte, but this is not his best CD I have all of David Whyte's cds (and a couple of his poetry books), and I love to listen to his lectures and to him read his poetry. This is not the best cd, but I eagerly get anything new he records. There's really not much about requited and unrequited love here. If you're a DW junkie, you'll probably like this well enough. "What to Remember When Waking," "The Three Marriages," and "Clear Mind, Wild Heart" are all better.. pamfabre@AOL.com said Heartbreak for the BUYER!. Mediocre at best. He describes a party he and his wife hosted for friends attending a convention, and a great friend who is confused about the word 'THE' pronounced by most as 'THA'. That's it. Had I paid money to fly somewhere to see and hear him in person, I would have been very ANGRY. Nothing about healing a broken heart here - the title is misleading.. Barbara Mc said When the Heart Breaks. David Whyte is a wonderful motivational speaker through the use of poetry. I have had the opportunity to attend several of his seminars and will go to more if the opportunity becomes available. In the interim I enjoy listening to his CD sets. His audio recordings are powerful because his voice adds so much to his poetry. He reads poetry (his own and other poets) by sometimes repeating phrases or lines, and that adds a depth to the poem. Also, he tells back stories of his poetry and shares his philosophies of li
