Starting with the first lesson, I looked at what I was drawing and thought, "Wow I drew that? I'm a better artist than I realized!"It's key to draw at least as many figures or pages as she suggests. . Picasso Dogs. Modigliani Parents. Your Inner Dr. Seuss. Best inpirational book I've found for aspiring or working artists I've found when you buy "inspiration" books most of them aren't verywell, inspirational or creative. Mostly ideas you've seen before. Not so with this book. Right after I got it I flipped through a few pages and then found that I couldn't stop. She has the best ideas ever!One of my favorites is the chapter entitled, "Picasso Dogs." Besides encouraging you to draw or paint your versions of dogs of the Picasso persuasion, how about Modigliani parent portraits? As far as I'm concerned the author/artist hit it out of the ballpark with more ideas than you can take. Marme said "If I can't draw, I can't be an artist". I've never considered myself an "artist", because I've never been able to "draw". That belief has colored my artistic expression for decades. Lately, the pull towards art has led me to some wonderful books, but THIS BOOK speaks to me. When I look through the activities, I know I can do them, and I know they are non-fail projects. There is so much fun and whimsy built in, that creating will be a joy. I stumbled on this book by accident, and what a happy accident it has turned out to be. If blank pages intimidate you, Carla has solutions to inspire.
