"An eclectic compilation of short stories" according to GG. I am hard core Dresden (Jim Butcher) fan. I bought this book on a whim because I was itching for more Dresden . Instead I found new authors to explore.My favorite story in this compilation is "Bottle Tree" a beautiful mix of philosophy, magic and romance.Highly recommended if you are browsing different authors and styles . That said, there were about four other stories I felt were good, one about a pooka, one about a Chinese vampire, and can't remember the others. I read the anthology at least two months ago and wasn't even going to write a review, but I was doing a review and Amazon asked me about this book, so there it is. imo, the book is hugely overpriced. The deal with most short story collections is that they :) ave a headliner and a few other name writers that add strength to the collection. I don't have a problem with this, it just that I am not a big short story fan. I am a fan when all the short stories are by the same writer, somebody I picked and like. With collections like this one, you get a couple of good stories and then others from writers I have heard of but don't typically read their stories. The Harry Dresden story was great along with the Patricia Biggs one. I am sure the other stories will appeal to both e rd, just not
