readable translation, pleasant pictures This is the first time I've read the Tao Te Ching, so I'm no expert on the 81 verses. The translation is accessible to the novice. The pictures accented the content nicely. Well worth $0.99.. Amazon Customer said Good book.. Literally a good book. The text is much more traditional compared to modern ones, but it's still easy to comprehend.. My favorite translation Eric Auld I'm very glad they published this translation that was previously only available online. It is the best one I've seen. The Stephen Mitchell version is good, but it's not particularly musical, and sometimes I feel he takes too many liberties. The Dan Heitkamp version seems to stick close to the original meaning, but it's sort of plain. Although I've never read the original text, it seems that this translation
