But seriously, Elliott is a brilliantly comic best-selling writer - and while there is plenty of fictional fun in The Guy Under the Sheets, also woven throughout are wonderful real-life anecdotes, including Elliott's start at Late Night with David Letterman alongside Andy Kaufman, his work in films from Groundhog Day to Cabin Boy, and much more. If the author does not prevail in his lawsuit, this book is bound to delight many new listeners and loyal fans alike.. The Guy Under the Sheets is a behind-the-scenes memoir so personal, so provocative, that Elliott nearly sued himself to halt publication: The most shocking revelation, corroborated by numerous unnamed sources, is that Elliott is not the absurdist comedian that Rolling Stone once called "a genius". Aiden Keing said Truely one of the best things I have read. I wasn't lucky enough to have access to the Letterman show back in it's ground breaking days, but I am sure Elliott would have been one of my favorite things on TV back then. Fortunately we have this book, the anti memoir, by the anti comedian, which is brilliant from the opening paragraph to the last. Although the acknowledgments section is sure to earn him a. Surreal Existential Trip Chris Elliot is vastly underrated as a comedian. Now I can say he is vastly underrated as a writer. This was compelling from the first page and for a person of any wit, I wholeheartedly recommend it. One never knew what kind of crazy turn it was going to take. Brilliant doesn't even touch it. I wonder what it would be like if you read it while on some controll. Linda G Simpson said I wanted I wanted 4.5 stars Linda G Simpson If you read and liked any one of his other books you're in for a real treat. This is even funnier than the one you read! Story too zany? Sure but it's funny and Chris still has "it" whatever that is. P.S. if "Daddy's Boy" was PG this one is NC-17.. .5 stars.
