The second book in the Decker series is a better effort than the first John A. Isakson The second book in the Decker series is a better effort than the first. In contrast to the first book, the plot has twists and turns but stays in the realm of the plausible. The characters get better development and the secondary characters are more interesting. In particular, two new characters, a recently released convict and his father have very interesting and surprising developments, not all good, but all well thought out and written. Amos Decker is such an unusual character that he completely fascinated me. After a head injury playing football, he can forget nothing which makes him an excellent detective. He is unusual in that he is obese, out of shape and socially awkward but a very likable character. The supporting characters were well developed and believable and the plot had so many twists that it made me dizzy. I couldn't put the book down and read it late into. This book is about an innocent young man on death row and Decker is working with the FBI to try to exonerate the man. The book has the typical Baldacci twists and turns. While this book was very entertaining, I didn't like it as much as the first book. This book kind of dragged in the middle and I found myself reading other books every few chapters. Some of the twists and turns didn't quite connect for me, so even when it all
