She's one of the few heroines I've seen who knows what she wants and is more of an active participant in the romance. She says she wants Warren Anderson and makes it known. But Warren is really odious for 90% of the novel and his turn into loving Amy could have been done better. Because he was such an ass, you don't really root for the couple as much as one should. And it sorta feels racist the way some of the Chinese characters are done. I wouldn't say there's much here that won't be summed up perfectly in the next books: Warren was an ass.
