DESCRIPTION:

E. Johnson said Simple Pleasures Captured By a Master Observer. A picture book of the wiles, charms and mysterious nuances of women that cause men to fall in love at first sight. Some variations in dimensions would improve and take this art form into the abstract. It would not be so simple a pleasure then would it now? I thoroughly enjoy the colors, poses and simplicity of beauty in these instinctive drawings. They transport me back to easter, elementary school birthday parties and adolescent male contemplations of the female mystique. Like my first crush on that young school teacher in the fifth grade!. excellent illustrations Not as well known as his contemporaries, Dickens had a unique style with the wholesome, girl next door look. Some people complain that the faces look underage; I don't agree, but it's worth mentioning (the bodies certainly belie that). These are all nudes and all images are full page reproductions. There is decent biographical data on Dickens but little about the individual images.. "Five Stars" according to egytomb. Classic pin-ups!

An Englishman from the old school, his fondness for lovely young innocents in not-so-innocent situations has delighted pin-up enthusiasts throughout the world for several generations. "Cheeky," "saucy," "randy," and a variety of other British euphemisms can be employed when describing the works of Archie Dickens. Angelic faces with devilish designs has always been the hallmark of this illustrator.
