"Lackluster" according to Patrick Tiffany. I have to agree with others who have mentioned the book has a very slow (and, I might add, utterly uninteresting) beginning. Once the story got going, I became more engrossed with King's literary prowess. That said, I felt the Epilogue was also very uninspired and disappointing - like some sort of unwelcome appendage to the story. It felt as though King knew that there were many loose ends that needed some sort of hasty resolution, but gave very little thought or effort as to how they wo. "Eerie and hilarious." according to Kindle Customer. As with all King works, there is a hefty dose of humour on this book, as well as some truly wonderful characters. I find that I am compelled to read this again and again. Since I've read two paperback copies to tatters, I am pleased to have it now in a form that is a bit more sturdy (and causes less strain on my hands and wrists). It is a tale of a small town, a tale of humans, of not-humans, of good dogs and bad siblings.. "THE 80s BELONGED TO A KING!" according to RJ Smith. One of the GREATEST horror novels of the twentieth century written by the Master Novelist of Horror Mr. Stephen King. In the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, King ruled the genre and wrote some of the best fiction horror books of his time. I would argue, his novels: IT, THE TOMMYKNOCKERS and THE STAND were three of the best horror novels ever written.
