The book is insightful, instructional, and yes, devotional. When reading makes you pause along the way and worship our great God, I call it devotional. It is devotional in the best sense of the word, as nothing is more devotional than solid theology, and nothing is more important than enhancing our knowledge of our God’s attributes.. When Crossway offered to send me a complimentary copy of this book to review, I accepted eagerly in anticipation of a devotional guide into a deeper appreciation of each aspect of God as the subtitle suggests. However, those expectations, based on the word "Devotional" proved a hindrance to my appreciation of the book, which seems to me to be more of a theological treatise on the attributes of God rather than the common understanding of the word “devotional.” The book also moves on a cerebral plane as theological texts, unlike “devotional guides,” are apt to do.Despite my hope of being moved
