"Great book--read it!!" according to L G. I grabbed this book as soon as it came out and read through it at such a rapid pace that I was disappointed when it was over--I wanted more! I do catch myself watching the headlines and catch myself thinking back to his first book and the tie-ins to the real world. I even love all the references to pop culture that are sprinkled throughout the story. It also reminds me that I need to look up some of those references (a bibliographic reference . Almost as good as Grunt Life Grunt Traitor is the second (apparently) in a series of sci-fi warfare novels by Ochse. It had a few too many characters, which made some of the many "conflict in LA" episodes a little hard to follow. But the main character(s) are great and this is my kind of escapist yarn. I'm still anxious to read the next one.. Even Better Than the First Mike Moody This is the second book in the Task Force Ombra series and as much as I loved the first, this one is even better. The book starts some months after the Battle of Kilimanjaro when OMBRA has moved operations to California to continue the war against the alien invaders. Everything the first book did right, this one does even better. Mason continues his character development, except saddled with even more guilt from the events in the first novel.
