The beautifully reproduced images, full bleed on pages and spreads, pull you into a very specific time in New York's history - 1970's disco (and roller -disco) with its unique confluence of race and gender. I assumed each photo would have a little description or information next to it.Instead each photo took up the entire page sometimes two pages for one photo.Which gives the viewer a chance to see details one might not see had they been smaller. I was too young to be part of the scene in this outstanding photo book but seeing these pictures I feel somehow now that I have been there.
