Simple, straight forward, lucid instructions to do magic with photos Mr. Amusing Hello. I am primarily an (amateur) landscape photographer as you may discern if you look at my Flickr gallery: []I am also interested in night photography - particularly of the night sky. So it is not a surprise that the cover of the book would have been enough to capture my attention.I pre-ordered my copy of The Photoshop Darkroom in June, 2009. It was a long wait and worth it.I have several other books on Photoshop and this one beats them all in clarity and usefulness by a wide margin. Thankfully this book is NOT an exhaustive description of all of the features and nuances of Photoshop. A book that. "If you are a nature photographer and Harold Davis isn't in your library, you're missing some great opportunities." according to Ted C.. Harold Davis is not only one of the most artistic photographers I know of, but is also one the most inspirational. Reading his books propel one forward in their photography. The details of how he does what he does gives the tools necessary to follow where his inspiration leads. It isn't a book on Photoshop, lots of things in PS are not even alluded to let alone discussed. For me, this is perfect. I want to be able to produce images like he does, I don't want to be distracted by the plethora of other things PS offers, at least not yet. He stays on target, is thorough and easy to follow.. FireSpirit Designs said The Photoshop Darkroom. I haven't been able to get through the whole book as of yet, but it has a lot of information included that is very helpful. It's well written, with clear instruction & great instructional photos as well. This will be a good reference book to keep near when working with Photoshop. I'm very pleased with the purchase & even though I've been working with Photoshop for several years now, I think I'll get a lot of use from it.
